Managing Partner
Mr. Magid was one of the original founders of EIF in 1987. He manages the Boston area office and is responsible for the financial, asset management, and administrative teams. Together with the other two Managing Partners, John E. Buehler and Terence L. Darby, Mr. Magid is responsible for the overall investment, asset management, strategic planning, and operations of the Management Company and the funds it manages. He serves on the boards of all the funds under the Management Company’s management and their respective management companies. He also sits on the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee, and the Investment Committee. From 1987 until 1996, Mr. Magid was Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of EIF. From 1983 to 1987 he was a Senior Investment Officer of John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company and was a member of the team responsible for John Hancock’s Utility and Energy portfolio, including investments in the independent power industry. From 1979 to 1983, Mr. Magid was a licensing engineer for the construction of electric power plants with United Engineers & Constructors. He received an M.B.A. from Cornell University and a B.A. from Colby College.
