Mr. Segel joined EIF in 1999. He is responsible for asset management of all fund investments and is the Portfolio Manager of Project Finance Fund III, L.P., a limited partnership organized under the laws of Delaware (“EIF III”). Mr. Segel is one of the investment officers responsible for originating, evaluating, analyzing, structuring, and closing of new fund investments. He also sits on the Executive and Investment Committees. From 1996 to 1999, Mr. Segel was Vice President, Finance, at ABB Energy Capital L.L.C. (formerly Energy Capital Partners) in Boston where he provided project financing for energy efficiency and energy-related projects. From 1992 to 1996, Mr. Segel was Manager of Finance at U.S. Generating Company (formerly J. Makowski Associates) in Boston where he structured, closed, and administered project financings for independent power projects. From 1989 to 1992, Mr. Segel was a Loan Officer at The First National Bank of Boston in the National Banking Group, where he performed financial and credit analysis for the extension of credit to large corporate and middle-market customers. From 1987 to 1989, Mr. Segel was an Investment Banking Corporate Analyst at Shearson Lehman Hutton Inc. in New York, where he worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Finance departments and performed financial analysis, valuation, and advisory services. Mr. Segel received an A.B. from Harvard College where he concentrated in Economics.
